Powers everything except... Apr 28, 2010 This has been a great hub except for the fact that it doesn't consistently power my Wacom Intuous4 PTK-840 graphics tablet and my iPod touch. They may power up fine one time but then show an alert of "insufficient power" the next. Those two items must have different power requirements than other devices because they won't both power up at the same time even plugged into the corded keyboard on my iMac. What this hub did do was free up enough ports on the back of my iMac so that I can plug them both in directly. It has performed flawlessly with everything else. It got four stars because I was expecting it to be able handle everything since it was a "powered" and pricey hub.

Seems alright so far... Mar 23, 2010 I think I may have received an updated version of this USB hub. Mine doesn't have the cool red USB ports, the ports on mine are white. Also the little light that came free with it does not cast a blue beam, the light is white. It also came with a 6 ft USB extension cable because the USB cable built into the unit is very short. Why is the USB cable fixed permanently to the hub? I can see this becoming a failure point in the future where the cable goes into the hub. Just like on corded mice the cord going into it always fails and the mouse stops working, and the cord going into this hub is not even as thick as the cord on a mouse. It also comes with its own power supply for A/C. Like others have said the unit is not really that heavy. It is weighted, but they make it seem like it is really weighted in the product description. It also has 4 little rubber feet on the bottom to help keep it in place. Mine says made in China on the bottom but unfortunately no manufacture date.
We'll see how it performs over the next while. Most USB hubs that I own now I have had for 3-4 years. I seem to have good luck with USB hubs compared to some of the reports I read from users here on Amazon. I am not giving this hub five stars for the fact that it is not as heavy as they make it out to be, and because of the USB cable being fixed permanently into the hub.

Just what I needed! Mar 03, 2010 After shopping around to find the perfect hub, I chose the Kensington dome hub for function, space, and looks. It was easy to install. So far it is working fine. I loved the idea of the fly light, as I need more light on my keyboard at night and was thinking it would provide that. It is not that much light however...just a little tiny blue light and is diminishing in power as time goes along. It doesn't look to me as if it will last. If Kensington wants to add on this light idea again..I think it would be of benefit to expand it to a real light...one that would provide a bigger span of light. It was a selling point for me.
Otherwise, the hub is great and works fine for my needs!

Does exactly what it claims! Feb 05, 2010 I like this USB hub. I bought one and liked it so much, I bought another for my other house. It's heavy and does not move around. Easy setup, the USB on the top is great for the junk drives/flash drives. I am very pleased with the quality - and the flashlight is nice too, though I don't really use it. I think the USB hub looks nice, but this last one I bought, I put behind a little door on my desk, so I could use the light in there to light up the cabinet I suppose to see where to plug things in. Haha.
Anyways, I highly recommend. If you don't choose this product, at least get a USB hub that plugs into an AC outlet. I have had more success with these than those powered only by the USB.
Thanks.

Would be great, if it was reliable Feb 03, 2010 I shopped around and this looked like a decent looking hub that met my needs (powered, 7 port). I needed to plugin 2 external drives, mouse, scanner, 2 ipods and sometimes my cell phone or camera. I found that my mouse would stop working from time to time. Power cycling the hub helped. Worse than that was running a VM (via VMWare) stored on the USB drive. Speed wasn't so bad, but after a while, VMWare complained the drive wasn't available. Sure enough, it wasn't mounted anymore. After putting up with this for a few months, not being sure what was at fault, the hub quit altogether. Kensington replaced it under warranty, but the new hub also showed the same issues with the drive. I have none of these issues plugging directly into my computer. I'm fed up and cannot recommend this! I'm shopping for something more reliable!
